Join Us for Our Next Community Hike: St Catherine’s Hill

Join us for a morning of fresh air, good company and some great views as we explore St Catherine’s Hill and the countryside around Guildford.

Starting in Guildford town centre, we’ll head out through the town and towards St Catherine’s Hill, following a mix of quieter streets, countryside paths and trails along the way.

Whether you’re looking to meet some new people, get outside or just spend your Sunday morning somewhere a little different, everyone is welcome. We’ll keep things relaxed, with plenty of time to chat, take in the views and enjoy the route.

The route takes us through the countryside around St Catherine’s Hill, with a few climbs along the way and plenty of open views to enjoy.

If you’re coming by train, Guildford Station is just a short walk from the meeting point, making it easy to join us from around Surrey and beyond.

We’ll finish back in Guildford with coffee and conversation at Frida Coffee House.

Route Overview

Starting from Guildford town centre 📍The Surrey Scholar Statue (50 High Street, Guildford, GU1 3ES), we’ll make our way through the town before gradually heading towards St Catherine’s Hill and the surrounding countryside.

The route takes us along a mixture of town paths, countryside trails and natural routes as we make our way towards St Catherine’s Hill. Along the way, we’ll enjoy changing scenery, countryside paths and views across Guildford and the surrounding Surrey landscape.

The route includes several steady climbs and some uneven terrain, but the hike is designed to be social and relaxed rather than challenging. We’ll keep a comfortable pace, with plenty of opportunities to stop, catch your breath, chat with fellow hikers and enjoy the views.

After exploring St Catherine’s Hill and the surrounding countryside, we’ll make our way back towards Guildford town centre, finishing together with coffee and conversation at Frida Coffee House.

Whether you’ve joined us before or this is your first Northern Wind community hike, you’ll be very welcome.

What to Bring

Comfortable walking boots or trail shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a bottle of water and any snacks you’d like along the way.

We also recommend bringing suncream if the forecast is warm and a waterproof layer if rain is expected.

The route includes uneven countryside terrain, natural paths and several steady climbs, so please make sure you’re comfortable with the stated distance and terrain.
